From Sant Feliu to the Massif of the Montgrí along the coast

The route starts in Sant Feliu de Guíxols and goes to the North. It ends in Torroella de Montgrí/L'Estartit. The route mostly goes next to the coast on the "camino de ronda", which allows you to enjoy the incrdible coastal landscapes, passing through old fishing towns like Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc. The route continues to the interior, with great rural landscapes and where you could visit interesting medieval towns. Accommodation in small comfortable hotels and farmhouses in a familiar atmosphere.

Day 1: Arrival at Sant Feliu de Guíxols / Sant Pol
Arrival at the nice little town of Sant Feliu de Guixols with its fishing port. Accommodation in a hotel next to the beautiful beach of Sant Pol.

Transfer: From Girona to Sant Feliu (Optional)
Day 2: Sant Feliu de Guíxols/ Sant Pol – Palamós/La Fosca
Walking along the coastline until reaching Calella de Palafrugell. The route goes through the village of Platja d’Aro, following the sea along the Bay of Palamós, with its fishing port and its delicious fishes.

Day 3: Palamós/ La Fosca - Calella de Palafrugell
Today's route goes through the lovely Castell cove rounding the wooded area of Cap Roig (height 130 m), from where we can get an excellent panoramic view. Lodging in the old fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, with a magnificent view over the settlement of Calella.

Day 4: Calella de Palafrugell - Begur
The trail leads us to the north always following the coast and going up to the Massif of Begur (height 220 m) with its picturesque town and its medieval castle.

Day 5: Begur- Peratallada/ Fontclara
Slope down to the gentle countryside where a large number of picturesque medieval villages are visited as Pals and Peratallada. Lodging in a rural farmhouse.

Day 6: Fontclara - Torroella de Montgrí/Estartit
Today's route passses through interesting medieval villages. The trail is flat and leads you to the river mouth of the Ter, where you will enjoy the view of the Medes Islands.

Day 7: Torroella de Montgrí/L'Estartit - Montgrí Massif - l’Estartit
Circular route to discover some of the most wonderful parts of the Montgrí Massif. The route passes by two lovely coves, which can only be reached by foot and you will reach the highest spot with the Montgrí castle on the top (200m). From there you have an excellent view of all the Empordà area.
